Dad's and Awkward Family Photos

So Father's day has come and gone (as did Mother's Day, but let's not get particular). We "surprised" Trevor with our over-played breakfast in bed routine. He seemed genuinely pleased.

Then, we gave him his gift. Earlier that month, he had bought himself a new toolbox for Father's Day so I wasn't required to put any effort into that aspect of the day. But my buddy, Heather, had de beeest (read with a Nacho Libre accent) idea that I had to steal. As a back story, her husband and mine once spent an hour on the awkward family photos website. They were hysterical. It's truly a kind of humor that Trevor and Kirk can appreciate. Heather's master plan? Do a photo shoot with our kids, awkward family photo style. We joined forces with fellow buddy, Jamie (a la my family photog and hairstylist guru). Here's the result...

At first, he didn't get it. He was trying to act all happy that we had screened a shirt for him with the kids on it. Then when he looked at the individual pics of the kids on the back...well, you can see his reaction.

The front of the shirt.

The back.

Happy Father's Day to the best (albeit awkward) Daddy anyone could ask for! We love you!
