Now that I've slept the day away (I've been a little under the weather) I have just enough energy to post about our day. For starters, we made him his traditional Eggs Benedict in bed and let him sleep in until almost 10:00am. Then we lounged around all morning until it was absolutely necessary to get up and get ready to go here...
the Newport Temple. We'd never been to this temple and thought we'd give it a go. It actually took less time to get to, so that was an immediate bonus. We really enjoyed being together, away from the stress of our life right now, and spend some much needed time in the temple. As I'm writing this, I'm realizing, again, how blessed we are that we have 3 temples, within less than an hour of driving, that we can attend. I'm happy to say, we have been to all 3.
After the temple, we redeemed a gift card we had at Outback Steakhouse. Since we had a gift card, we didn't exactly hold back. Yes, we had the 2,310 calorie bloomin' heart failure onion, our entrees, and the tower of high triglyceride chocolate cake. Worth it. Worth every cellulite dimple in my very dimply thighs. I don't even feel a little bit bad.
A big shout-out goes to the Schaumann's who had our kids for 5+ hours. We ended up staying at their house for a round of pinochle (I'm so sorry Kirk) and left-over tower of high triglyceride cake. It wasn't the most extravagant of birthday's, but I hope it was a happy one.

I just loved our day when we did that. The good feeling left too soon. Dang natural man and my bad attitude some days.
