A Little Blue

~I promised to try to recreate it.~

Our week is over. I'm not going to lie. The house seems pretty empty. The kids are back at school. Our international visitor is at the airport and we are sad. Have you ever had a guest that stayed for a week? It's all exciting at first and then by the end of the visit you're ready for your life to get back to normal. This isn't like that. We had such a great time with Mark. Preston and Carson wouldn't give him two seconds of peace and whenever we went anywhere Abby insisted he hold her hand. Luckily for us, he was very accommodating to them. I hope Trevor won't mind me saying that he was pretty bummed when we went to bed last night. We're all pretty melancholy today. I feel like I did the day we said goodbye to our Utah friends 3 1/2 years ago. We knew we would see them again, but we knew it would take a long time for that day to come.

~I just thought this was funny. It looks like Trevor is showing Mark his recent manicure and Mark appreciates what he sees. I'm sure this wasn't the scenario, but it's fun to pretend.~

Trev's been buoyant all week. He said he was worried that after 16 years of not seeing each other that there might be some awkwardness. There wasn't. They picked up right where they left off...as 21 year old boys who like fast cars. But that's another story in and of itself. I caught these two giggling like a bunch of girls on several occasions. Who knew a mission in Canada would have created such hilarious memories?

~Mark's rental gave them the opportunity to have a mini midlife crisis. It's over now...I hope.~

Thanks for coming all this way to see us Mark. You're welcome back anytime, but hopefully we'll take a turn to come see you first (hint, hint, wink, wink, Trevor). In fact we spent last night looking for cheap tickets to Ireland. Here's hoping it's not just wishful thinking.

~At the St. George temple. We took a little detour on the way home.~

Awww, I hate it when people leave me, but if I got to leave in a rental car like THAT, it would be SEE YA!!! One day I'll have one (maybe when car seats are no longer needed . . .) :) Hope you guys get ouf of your blues soon.

Hey, we should have taken that car for our girls night out! Mark was a trooper and it was great to meet him. The kids loved his accent!

Hey, it'll be Christmas in Washington before you can blink... almost. Glad you had a fun trip and are home safe and sound.

Oh, I forgot to ask you something. Bonnie Washburn was asking how you go about getting your blogs put into a book like you did. Could you explain it to her please? Just go to World of Washburns.blogspot.com
Thanks!

Brenda I had to zoom in on the first picture, it looks like Trev and Mark are holding hands!! For the record they are not, I sent the photo to a CSI lab and they confirmed this.

No Becky, we were not holding hands in the first pic. We were in the one at the St George Temple though. ;-)

I had a blast with you guys, I felt a little sad myself on the way to the airport. Not sure if it was harder to part with the car of you guys.

Just kidding, you know it was the car. :o)
