Easter And Phenominally 40!

I couldn't decide what I wanted to blog about more, Easter or Trevor's birthday. That's a lie. I wanted to post about Trevor's birthday, but the guilt of ignoring Easter was overwhelming. So a double post it is!

Easter was great! I love watching my kids search for their baskets and hunt for eggs, both at home and at Mimi and Papa's. William's got it down. In fact, he found more eggs than Abby or Preston. No one beats Carson though. That kid is an animal.

I finally got to meet Brandon's lady. They are getting married June 16 in the Newport Temple. We couldn't be happier for them. She is lovely and Brandon has been literally glowing for months now! William gave his approval too, so all bases are covered.

Now...TREVOR TURNS 40!!!!

I threw him a party with our family and close friends. I'm not sure if the theme is evident (sense sarcasm). If you can't tell, it means you were born post 1990. Our house was all things '80's! I bought posters from classic 80's movies (think Goonies, Ferris Bueller, Back to the Future). I reprinted tons of pictures of Trevor growing up and they made a big 4 and 0 on the wall. It was so hilarious to see everyone react to that. I even enlarged 3 of them and used them as posters too. That might have been my favorite part, until Gina brought the cake!
How rad is this cake?!?! I saw a picture on pinterest and forward it on to Gina. She is amazing. It was perfect and I can't say enough about it. It took her and Cory 4 hours to decorate. Seriously in their debt! And to top it all of, it was so delish!

Dressing up was a requirement. I was so happy everyone humored me. I did give out prizes. Chelsea won best female. Brandon (who was Chet from Goonies) won best male, and Vance and Cindy were our winning couple. Gina and Cory came in second in every category though. Everyone looked awesome.

We played a version of Family Feud and I think everyone was shocked when the "So Glad We Weren't Born A Miles" Family (aka Janet, Vance, Gina, Robert, Ryan and Heather) beat the "Miles" Family (aka Ron, Trevor, Cory, Chelsea, Brandon, Ashley, Cindy and Kirk).

I love my old man so much and I swear he doesn't look a day over 32! It was such a fun night surrounded by such fun people! Happy Birthday Trevor Baby!

Easter And Elders

~Coloring Eggs and the picture is super focused too.~

We had a lovely Easter. The bunny came and I didn't charge my battery. Typical. We did have a great time with family and friends.

These are the few pictures I did get. So lame I know.

~Carson and Abby with their baskets. Preston was still trying to find his (he has a bad case of "guy's eyes").~

~There's an egg in those chubby hands.~

~The boys enjoying their Legos.~

When we lived in Chino Hills, we fed the missionaries a lot. There were a few favorites, but no one can top these two...that I don't have a picture of. Ah well. Shaun, David and Brandon came to stay with us and we're so glad they did. They make us giggle. They even brought presents. I got a box of chocolates (if you say it like Forest Gump it's funnier) and a scorpion in amber belt buckle. Random, but that's our relationship. Trevor got a sweet tie. The tag says it was $11.95 but I think that's a $10 misprint. It's awful, in a good way, but not good enough to warrant a public appearance in it. Still, we love those boys and had such a great time with them. Oh, and the Easter bunny didn't forget them while they were here either. They got chocolate crosses.

~Brandon indulging Abby with a little princess time.~

After church (that we were 20 minutes late for because Trevor and I took a morning nap and didn't wake up in time), we had dinner over at Papa and Mimi's. I love family time, especially if there's calorie packed food involved. Each dish was interspersed with candy. Can't beat that.

Happy Easter everyone!

I'm So Tired

Seriously. So sleepy that my eyes are burning out of my skull. I wonder why that doesn't alarm me. Anyway, because of the aforementioned exhaustion, I'm going to quickly run through the past two weeks of my life. Call it speed blogging if you will.

Two weeks ago Holly called me and said, "Can we come over tomorrow?". That's not that strange when you're family lives close, but when your sister is roughly 643 miles away, it's freakin' awesome. She could only stay a day, but her 3 chitlin's got to spend 6 days with us including Easter.

Easter. That happened too. We colored eggs.

The Easter bunny came too. Will liked banging plastic eggs on his head and Abby fell asleep watching one of the movies the bunny brought. She fell asleep with her sunglasses on. We have no idea how long she was out. It took us a while to even realize it.

We had dinner at the Miles homestead. Good food. Good fun. Great family.

The kids found eggs there too.

The next Tuesday, we got 5 more occupants at "Hotel Miles". This trip was planned and we were so excited to show the Bergholms around our crib. Two days at the beach left some of us a little sun sick (i.e. Preston), but we powered through. There was NO WAY we were missing a day at Big D! Those pictures will come later, when I find the energy to hunt down my little crap camera that always accompanies me to Disneyland.

Despite the cramped quarters, we thoroughly enjoyed all the cousins and the late night/early mornings that came with it. The house has been empty for 3 days and I'm still recuperating. But it was so worth it and I'd do it again tomorrow if I could!

Easter and Stuff

So, we had your basic Easter. We colored eggs the night before with Uncle Vance and Aunt Cindy.

We got up far too early the next day to find the house covered in candy left by the beloved holiday bunny.

~Each of the kids finding their basket and looking for eggs. Preston can't seem to find the green one right behind him.~

We rushed to get ready for church and had a very sweet meeting.

We took the annual (although we've missed the last two years) family Easter picture with a trusty tripod, and joined Trevor's family for dinner that afternoon.

~You may be wondering why Carson is wearing a different tie. He destroyed his new green one at church. Why do I even try?~

A lot more has been going on. I've been in a really funky mood the last 4 days and unfortunately, I feel it'll be a little while longer until it goes away. This pregnancy has been great physically, with the exception of the placenta previa that was confirmed on Friday, but I feel good physically, even if I'm not. My pregnancies are always fairly easy, but my emotions have been a little less stable this time around. And by a little less, I mean I'm completely erratic and off-the-charts crazy. We have spring break this week (way too late if you ask me) and now I have to put on a happy face for my kids, which has been a lot harder than expected. When I'm in a funk, the people around me suffer. Fortunately, I have a really great husband, who is super patient with me, and 4 incredible sisters who knew I was having a bad day on Friday and sent me these.

They are all together in Washington right now. I wish I were there. I need to pee my pants from laughing too hard, or at least watch someone else do it. It's good medicine for funky moods.

Beast of an Easter

I'm so lame. Seriously. Look at what my family got for Easter dinner. Yes, we had been traveling ALL day, but still, a frozen $1 pizza? Sad.

~Winner, winner, pizza dinner!~

One of the many wonderful things about having little kids, is that they could care less. Seriously, they were thrilled with the pizza. They were just so ecstatic to be out of the car and were still on their little adrenaline rushes from the egg/basket hunt. We were worried that the Easter Bunny wouldn't have left anything, since we were gone, but he came through in the end (thanks Vance). Don't judge them on their rough appearance. Blame their mother.

~Carson examining his loot~

Here's a little tidbit for you. While egg hunting, Preston was having a case of guys eyes. Trevor and I had spotted one of the eggs and were pointing him in the right direction. We told him to look by the phone and he hopped on the counter and searched and searched, but it was fruitless. We were dying, and the picture shows why. It was literally at his eye level. I, of course, had the camera and took a picture of his bewildered face. He just couldn't understand just what was so hysterical. Maybe it wasn't even that funny, but we were pretty tired.

~Seriously still hadn't found the egg when I took this, can you say "Trevor Jr."?~

I think Carson "won" the egg hunt. He seemed to find them seconds before Preston could. Abby was in the other room raiding their baskets for more candy. I couldn't get her to eat dinner later. She was full from all the chocolate. Don't judge my parenting skills.

~Abby scrounging for more chocolate and trying to put on all 3 of her new headbands~

So, it was a decent Easter, just not much to jump and shout about.
